Mistletoe
The keeper of winter light
Nature of the plant
Mistletoe does not grow in the earth but high up in the crowns of trees – on apple trees, poplars, firs, rarely on oaks. It forms round, evergreen bushes that glow among the bare branches in winter. Its berries are white and translucent like little moons. According to the Roman writer Pliny, the Celtic druids cut mistletoe from the oak and revered it as sacred.
Inner attitude
Mistletoe lives between heaven and earth. It does not follow the course of the seasons but stays green when everything rests. It is quiet and singular.

Encounter & working together
You meet it in winter, when the trees are bare and its round bushes become visible. Stand still beneath a tree with mistletoe, look up and breathe the cold air.
