Capirona

The keeper of constant renewal

Nature of the tree

The capirona grows on the banks of the Amazon's rivers, where the floods come and go every year. Its trunk is smooth and shines green, bronze and reddish. Again and again its bark comes away in thin strips and falls – beneath it, fresh, light wood appears. It stands for renewal: letting go of the old so that the new has room.

Inner attitude

The capirona does not hold on. It lets fall what has served its time and afterwards stands all the clearer.

The essential qualities

  • renewing
  • clarifying
  • light
  • shining
  • fresh

It shows itself as it is – without armour.

Meaning

The capirona calls when you have grown heavy with old things you still carry with you. It teaches you to let go layer by layer and to show yourself anew, again and again.

Voice of the tree

«Let fall what no longer clothes you. Beneath it you are already new.»

Encounter & working together

You meet it when you touch a smooth bark with your hand and ask what you may lay down today.

Pay attention to

  • where you hold on to the old
  • where something comes loose by itself
  • where something new is already waiting beneath

The capirona works when you are ready to shed your skin.

Essence

I let go of what has served its time and show myself anew.
