Mythical beings

Sleipnir

The keeper of the journey between worlds

Nature of Sleipnir

Sleipnir is the eight-legged horse of Odin, the All-Father of Norse mythology. So tell the songs of the Edda. He is the fastest of all horses and carries his rider over land, sea and air. On him Hermod rides to the realm of the dead to bring back the god Baldur. Sleipnir stands for the power to master transitions and to travel between worlds.

Inner attitude

Sleipnir is tireless and sure-footed where others lose their ground. He carries without hesitation – across every boundary.

The essential qualities

  • swift
  • sure-footed
  • tireless
  • carrying
  • boundless

Eight legs give him a footing in every world.

Meaning

Sleipnir appears when you stand before a great transition – a move, a farewell, a new chapter of life. He reminds you that you are carried and that you can safely walk the path into another world.

Voice of the being

«Mount up. I will carry you – there and back again.»

Encounter & working together

You meet Sleipnir in dreams of long rides, in the wind and in the clouds. As you walk, feel each step consciously and imagine the earth carrying you with every stride.

Pay attention to

  • where you hesitate before a threshold
  • where you need more footing
  • where something wants to carry you across a boundary

Sleipnir works when you are ready to set out and let yourself be carried.

Essence

I walk safely through every transition.
