Baku
The keeper of good sleep
Nature of the Baku
The Baku is a being of the night, with a trunk, tusks and the body of a bear or a tapir – made up of many animals. Its model comes from China. In Japan it became the dream eater: whoever wakes from a heavy dream calls it softly so that it devours the dream. People placed its picture under their pillow in order to sleep peacefully. It stands for protection in the night and for the power to turn the heavy into good.
Inner attitude
The Baku is quiet and patient. It keeps watch while you sleep. What weighs on you, it takes in without fuss.
