Sacred Medicine
My path with the sacred medicines of our ancestors – and what it taught me about the most sacred medicine of all.
The medicine of our ancestors – and our very own medicine
I set out on a path – the shamanic path, with the sacred “medicinas” of our ancestors. They helped me heal my depression. Only now, looking back, do I see how severe it was.
It is a path of mindfulness and of self-love. A path on which I may meet the great whole in humility and gratitude. A path that sees Mother Earth as our most precious treasure and gift. A path of love for others – it comes once self-love has grown. Not always easy. But always for my highest good, when I can accept it.
At the beginning I believed everyone had to walk this path, that it was the ultimate healing. Of course that isn’t true. It is a path – and it is my path. Here I am in the right place. Here my heart and my soul open. Here I experience deep, nourishing connections. Many of my innermost and most burning questions were released from uncertainty.
But the most important insight was a different one: The most sacred medicine there is, is the medicine of my own that lives within me – my being.
And I am convinced: this is true for each and every one of us.
Recognising who we truly are. What remains when everything else falls away: the consciousness that is at home in our centre. You can feel it. To me, this consciousness is the soul. It is always there – and I am convinced: it always will be. I am this soul.
In this earthly life it has been given a wonderful vehicle: my body, my avatar. We may treat it with care – look after it, heal it where needed, love it. And we may bring the awareness of the soul back into our consciousness. That is our task. This is how we can be fully and wholly – and do what we are here for: to work through our being.
In deep gratitude to all the beings who accompany me, who are there for me and always want the best for me.
I wish for you to find your way back to your true being, your true self – just as I first had to find my way back to mine.
With love, René
